WHY I CALLED 911 TODAY

Today as I was walking out of United 93, I found a tie on the ground. Feeling a little adrenaline from the intense film, I decided to try and find its owner. "Did anyone drop a tie? ... DID ANYONE DROP A TIE?!" Nobody answered, so I put it on.

I continued to my car and inserted the latest Tool album in the CD player, to continue my high-energy mood. I drove out of the theatre parkinglot, down Great Mall drive, and as I came to the I-880, I saw something funny.

Some poor bastard turned into the wrong place and ended up on the tracks of San Jose's light-rail system. I was looking at the rear of his car while stopped at a red light. I saw his reverse lights go on, a suprising lack of movement, then the reverse lights went off and the hazards went on. The guy jumped up out of his car to get his person off the train tracks. It was a crappy 80's sports car with front-wheel-drive so it probably didn't have clearance over the rails, locking the vehicle in harm's way.

I called 911 on my mobile and described the situation to the dispatcher. Hopefully the vehicle wasn't be steamrolled by the next train!

I'm surprised you didn't take a couple of pictures with your digital camera... Watching that guy run around flailing his arms with panic would have made for some good shots!

Hey it's a step up from drinking from random juice he found on the ground, and two steps up from drinking out of the toilet.
