CANADA DAY IN CALI

Pink Tie!My kid sister flew in Friday from Vancouver to spend Canada day weekend with myself in the bay area. Our activities thus far have included:
  • being harassed at 7-11 for not having proper American identification for purchasing Canadian-made booze
  • eating burritos for breakfast after unsuccessfully scouring the California countryside for a Denny's
  • watching the new Superman, wherin adultery is the theme of the film

But the highlight has been attending the "Digital Moose Lounge" Canada Day festivities in Woodside. This event was really fun for various reasons. I met a fellow 'Rider fan with whom I hope to watch some future CFL games. Beer was free, and Canadian. They had a table set up to sell rare Canadian delicacies such as Smarties and Tim Horton's coffee. The UofWaterloo was even there, handing out free t-shirts to all alumni (that's me!) plus tiny metal pink ties only appropriate for tiny metal ulumnis.

But the overall awesome super duper fantastic great thrilling fantastic thing was that me and Jennifer won the grand prize in the Canada Day raffle! Better than a pound of Canadian bacon, our prize package includes:
  • Four nights accommodation for four in Kelowna BC
  • Four lift tickets at Big White ski-resort in Kelowna BC
  • Four ski or snowboard lessons at Big White ski-resort in Kelowna BC
  • Four days of rentals for four people at Big White ski-resort in Kelowna BC
  • Fancy certificate

We gotta cover air-travel ourselves, but that's okay. I'm going to Kelowna!

Wow! Your on a good karma streak.

Watch yourself, you may spontaneously combust or get attacked by squirrels to balance things out.

You may want to wear cloves of garlic for the next few days. Not that I think it will help, but it would make you look kinda silly.
