just a mixed-tape collection for the twenty-first century |
October 16, 2003:
Swank Trax 2003 happened at the beginning of October. I managed to get a lot of people interested in the "Rejected" cartoon, first showed to me by Melissa Owens.
This album was the metalist Swank Trax ever, as I am getting less and less excited about developments in the punk scene. It seems like every band wants to be labelled "Punk" even if the shit they play is light rock, technoshit or screaming noise. I'm so disillusioned.
april 6, 2003:
My buddy Andrew Mills was planning on making a Swank Trax with an evil theme, but he's a lazy ass and nothing ever happened.
And it's that time again - Swank Trax 2003 is on the drawring board. The next in the series is just in the planning stages now, but expect tracks from Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Metallica, Godsmack, Powerman 5000, The White Stripes, Filter, and other fine corporate American bands.
december 16, 2002:
New project pages for Swank Trax 2000, Swank Trax Couchabunga, and Swank Trax 2001 feature webpages recovered from our archives of Jesserific.com. We used to own that domain (and swanktrax.com) but we let them expire. Jesserific.com domain was picked up by courteous porn-vendors who now use it to market hardcore sex! And swanktrax.com is vacant, so you should pick it up today!
november 30, 2002:
Burnt, bundled and ready to roll - Swank Trax Red Button, featuring hand-crafted covers and songs you won't recognize but will love.
june 23, 2002:
It's all done, and I decided to post my advice for next year on a new Swank Trax 2002 project page.
may 14, 2002:
I'm pissed cause I can't find "Ha Ha You're Dead" from Greenday or anything from Filter's amalgamut disc. However, thus far I have the following tracks to appear on swank trax 2002:
The Strokes: Hard to Explain
The White Stripes: Hotel Yorba
The Hives: Hate to Say I Told You So
Weezer: Dope Nose
Boxcar Racer: I Feel So
New Found Glory: My Friend's Over You
Cake: Comfort Eagle
Incubus: Be a Hot Dancer
Incubus: 11am
Moby: We Are All Made Of Stars
Korn: Here to Stay
The Dandy Warhols: Solid
Jimmy Eat World: Bleed American
and I'm also thinking about . . . Staind/Aaron Lewis (Epiphany/Black), Papa Roach, A Simple Plan, POD, Custom, Melissa Auf Der Maur, System of a Down (Aerials or something from the Toxicity sessions), Adema, Limp Bizkit (Faith RMX), Radiohead, Green Day, (Poprocks & Coke), Marilyn Manson (Tainted Love), Shocore, Puddle of Mudd
